Perspiration is a natural body function which is necessary for the regulation of our body temperature. Hyperhidrosis is a condition in which there is abnormally excessive perspiration beyond what is required for the regulation of body temperature. It afflicts about 2.8 percent of the general population, and can affect the whole body (generalized) or only specific parts of the body (localized).

The parts of the body most commonly affected by hyperhidrosis are hands, feet, underarms, and the groin, primarily because there is a high concentration of sweat glands in these parts. However, hyperhidrosis can also affect any other part of the body. Its exact cause is unknown but a common observation among those who suffer from it is that they perspire more when they are nervous.

Hyperhidrosis can interfere with an individual’s daily activities. The performance of ordinary manual functions, such grasping objects, can be hampered by having excessively sweaty hands. Excessive underarm perspiration can stain clothing, thus limiting the movements of a person who endeavours to keep the sweat stains from showing to avoid embarrassment. And whatever type of shoes a sufferer wears, excessive sweating of the feet will cause difficulties.

Effective management of hyperhidrosis is possible. There are remedies, medications, and procedures available for those who suffer from it. These include aluminium chloride, botulinum toxin type A (Botox) , oxybutinin (Ditropan and Ditropan XL), glycopyrrolate (Robinul), propantheline bromide (Probanthine), benzatropine (Cogentin), and endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy (ETS), among others. The degrees of success achieved with these vary, depending on conditions and many factors.

There are instances in which hyperhidrosis can be controlled through dietary measures. This is a natural and healthy method that has no side effects. Choosing a healthful diet has many other benefits aside from controlling excessive sweating. Even in the cases where medical intervention is necessary to control hyperhidrosis, healthy eating habits will surely augment the effects of whatever treatment is being administered.

Controlling hyperhidrosis through diet is a fairly simple matter of avoiding some kinds of food, substituting some other kinds with healthier options, and having more of certain kinds. Avoid the intake of onions, garlic, and other spices whenever possible as these tend to contribute to the smell of sweat. Food with high fat content should be substituted with those that have low fat content (for example, low- or non-fat milk instead of whole milk). Herbal teas have proven to be beneficial in the reduction of sweating so drinking lots of it will be advantageous.

It is always best for a person suffering from hyperhidrosis, regardless of the severity, to consult a medical professional. A medical professional is best equipped to diagnose the cause and effect a cure.

Understanding hyperhidrosis will go a long way towards its management. Those who have hyperhidrosis should not let it control their lives. They should instead take control of it and have a better life.

You know how it is when you meet someone new and then you get nervous and that starts the sweaty palms and sweaty other things like face or armpits. But for those who do not have Hyperhidrosis the sweating isn’t the worst thing in the world. Unfortunately for that 1% of people that suffer from Hyperhidrosis, even the thought of sweating will make you anxious and start sweating even more making the person suffering from Hyperhidrosis feel even more out of place. Fortunately for those with Hyperhidrosis there are some Hyperhidrosis cures that you can try.

The first thing that you might be curious about as Hyperhidrosis cures is if there is a surgery available. If you are one that likes surgery then you’ll be happy to know that there is a surgery out there available that is called ETS (endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy) and works by cutting, or at times just clamping, a section of the sympathetic nerve that is the start of the whole Hyperhidrosis mess.

The clamping method has been said to be the preferred method as to remove the effects of the clamps you can simply have them removed. If you have them cut then the ability for reconstruction is a far harder process to conquer and the surgery might be permanent.

Another of the Hyperhidrosis cures is that you can use an antiperspirent that can be used to mask the sweating that can occur with Hyperhidrosis. The most potent ingredient in the antiperspirents that are available is aluminum chloride. This hyperhidrosis cures is one that even though it has initial positive results, does not have the long lasting effects that many wish to receive. But so long as you don’t mind to have the antiperspirents available at all times then this Hyperhidrosis cures might be a good and easy solution.

If you are wanting a different type of hyperhidrosis cures then there are actually a few medications out there that are said to have some positive effects for treating Hyperhidrosis. The only downside is that there are some side effects of the medication that might make it a little less desirable such as dry mouth, blurry vision or constipation. Any one of those three isn’t a fun thing to deal with and so might make you want to reconsider the use of medications.

Medications, even though sometimes very great, are most of the time not something that many people want to bother with as there are many times a natural solution available as one of the hyperhidrosis cures if you just look.

The natural cure that I have found for Hyperhidrosis cures is actually actupuncture. This is a form of alternative healing that has been used in China for many decades and even up to a few hundred years. Actupuncture would be one that I would try for Hyperhidrosis cures as it is one that has very little if any side effects, takes no medication and will most generally not only relax your sympathetic nerve but you whole body. And after a long day, who doesn’t need a little relaxation that can also be used as a hyperhidrosis cures?
